At APL we place a strong emphasis on continuous learning and training for our employees. Company policy is that all business related courses are paid for by Absorbent Products Ltd. In addition to first aid and WorkSafeBC courses, the company also sponsors computer training, pest management and control courses (to assist in research activities), export and import management, transportation, and human relations courses. In our commitment to our valued employees, we have also had consultants work with individuals to improve their management skills.

At Absorbent Products Ltd., higher education and the growth of our employees are valued. Therefore, in addition to company sponsored courses and seminars, we also pay tuition costs for employees looking to further their education.

Line Operator Job Description

Maintains production standards and upholds the #1 priority in the workplace: safety Ensures proper weights, dates and seals are maintained on all packaging. Ensures all packaging is configured to correct specifications Constantly monitors materials and additives to adhere to specifications Operates various equipment such as automated packaging equipment, forklift bobcat, and loader. Maintains a clean workplace The duties listed are provided as examples of area of responsibility and are not intended to create limits to responsibility but to help understand the scope of the position.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma

Skills and Abilities

– Heavy repetitive lifting up to 50 Lbs.

– Ability to read, write.

– Elementary Math skills and able to use a calculator.

– Potentially dusty work areas Personal Protective Equipment must be worn, such as high visibility vest, hard hat, and respirator in some area’s

– Good hand/eye coordination

– Trainable in operation of packaging machines.

Shift Schedule:

Shift work – 2-week rotating shifts 5 days per week, shift of either: 10 days, 10 afternoons, and 10 nights.

Shift premiums for afternoons and graveyards.

Salary:

Starting wage 18.00 per hour, 6 months 18.50 per hour, 12 months 19.22 per hour + Profit Share Plan. Health Benefits offered after 6 months
