Anti-Caking & Flow Agent
Red Lake Earth (added to animal feed at a rate of 2%) helps to keep feed from clumping together when stored in bins and silos.
Diatomaceous earth is often used as a natural pest control in empty grain silos and storage bins as a preventative measure for grain storage.
Diatomaceous earth is commonly used to kill external parasites such as fleas, ticks, mites, etc. The product is safe to use with all animals (excluding reptiles) and is often dusted into an animal's fur (using your hands or any other creative method, for example, a make-up powder puff).
Be sure not to get the product in the animal's eyes or ears. Re-apply if the animal gets wet or when the powder is no longer present.
Many people find that Last Crawl and
DE-cide work extremely well as natural pest control products for use against crawling insects.
Popular uses include:
In the Garden (as a natural pesticide): Simply sprinkle (or mix with water and spray) at the base of plants or directly on to the plants.
Please note: diatomaceous earth can also be harmful to beneficial insects such as honey bees. Be careful not to apply the product to surfaces with which these beneficial insects may come in contact.
In the Home (for control of fleas, ticks, mites, bedbugs etc):
Sprinkle the powder in the cracks and crevices around your home - along baseboards, appliances, in the seams of bed and couches, etc. Leave the product down for at least at week . Monitor the results and vacuum or sweep up the product when desired results are obtained.
Please note: as with any type of dust, try to avoid inhaling large amounts.
Diatomaceous earth is also often mixed into soil as a soil amendment and has been shown to increase nutrient and moisture retention in the soil.
